Bio
Andrew Maniotes was born in Munster, IN. He received a BFA in Visual Communications and a BFA in Photography from Herron School of Art, I.U.P.U.I.Indianapolis, Indiana, and a MFA in Visual Studies from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. He began teaching at EMU in 2002.
Artist Statement
Designer, communicator, rabble-rouser, court jester…
My political work serves to expose the underbelly of the beasts and the small men behind the curtain of falsehoods. I seek a more critical dialogue and urge other visual artists to do so, even those in opposition to my views. The time for blind party loyalty and self declared morality has passed.
Loud as I want in form and persona with no apologies.
